With a view to deepening self-insight and strengthening cooperation among senior nursing students, two kinds of group work, that is "encounter" and "role-play", were introduced to their curricula in 1985. After its introduction, each student was re-quested to write a report on "My Real Self-Looking into Myself" Those reports were carefully analyzed and as a result, two important problems were raised. The first one was what they thought about themselves during their group work and the second one was what they were going to do in order to enrich themselves and have better human relation¬ships. Concerning the first problem, three types of students were found : (1) students who cannot think about themselves as they are, (2) students who can think about themselves as they are , and (3) the students who are between the stages of (1) and (2). Regarding the second problem, they answered that they wanted to try to know themselves better to elevate themselves and also try to show themselves as they are in order to have better human relationships. We also delivered a questionaire to each student pertaining to the introduction of group work to curricula. Its result indicates that out of 80, 55 students (74.3%) answered group work would be very helpful for their future work and 61 students (82.4%) answered it would also be good for their juniors to have group work in their curricula.
