This article is a case study on phrenological educat ion practiced at Williams Secular School (WSS) which phrenologist George Combe (1788-1858) fo unded in mid-nineteenth century. Then the education plan of the school described in First Annual Report of the WSS (1850) is analyzed from two points of view: (1) the education of phrenology as a subject; and (2) the education by phrenology as methodology. The idea of education, an example of moral training, a scene of phrenology test characterized by Socratic questioning etc. documented in the Report tells us that the theory of phrenology made possible “training of all faculties” of students which was the aim of WSS. In this case, phrenology implied physiology of brain, Moral Science and the doctrine of faculties as good human nature. This example of WSS is informative for considering phrenological education.
