1. In the first report (1957), the variation of characters with the sorts of stocks in the G_0 generation were presented. The influences with the stock in the G_1 generation and the relation between of G_0 and G_1 generation are reported here. 2. The seeds were prepared by self pollination of cucumber scions which were grafted on pumpkin, calabash gourd (Kanpyo), water melon, sponge gourd, wax gourd, calabash gourd (Hyotan) and cucumber stock. Field plot arrangement was according to the randomized block design with 4 replicates (Sponge gourd was omitted from this layout for the reason of few seeds). 3. For germination, pumpkin and cucumber were seen to be good and wax gourd showed good sprouting (cotyledon), in spite of poor rooting (radicle). 4. For development of node number, pumpkin and wax gourd were higher than the other. 5. For disease resistance, based on the number of diseased leaves, sponge gourd was comparatively resistant, but pumpkin and wax gourd susceptible. 6. For the shape of petal, pumpkin, calabash gourd (Kanpyo) and calabash gourd (Hyotan) belong to the round type somewhat, and water melon, wax gourd, cucumber and sponge gourd long. And this character showed high heritability. 7. In wax gourd and cucumber, the flowering date of the first female flower was earlier, and the node location bearing it was lower than on the other. The plant bearing no flower occured in high percentage in calabash gourd (Hyotan), pumpkin and water melon. and one plant bearing no male flower was recognised in water melon. 8. In respect to the fruit number per plant, calabash gourd (Kanpyo), pumpkin, calabash gourd (Hyotan) and wax gourd were higher as compared withwater melon and cucumber. When fruit was divided into the main stem class and the lateral stem class on the base of stem which beared it, the number of fruit was counted and the ratio of the lateral on the main was caluculated, the stocks were classifyed into three types spring, intermediate, and summer type, as followed, cucumber belongs to spring type (ratio<0.8), pumpkin, calabash gourd (Kanpyo), water melon and spong gourd to summer type (ratio>1.2) wax gourd and calabash gourd (Hyotan) to intermediate type (0.8<ratio<1.2) The same behaviour as for the fruit number was recognized for the fruit weight.
