「言語データと学習データの融合的処理に関する統計的考察（A Statistical Analysis of Language Data and Learning Data）」（課題番号： 2021-ISMCRP-1006）

This paper quantitatively examined the usage of Japanese sentence final particles (SFP) by analyzing two corpus datasets: "6121 JFIC Corpus," a collection of Japanese novels published in 1961-2021, and "I-JAS," a collection of L2 Japanese learners' spoken and written outputs. Analytic foci were put on the (i) quantity of SFP , (ii) high frequent SFP forms, and (iii) statistical classification of major SFP forms. First, regarding (i), it was revealed that the quantity of SFP occurring in Japanese literary works hardly changes during 60 years, while learners come to use more SFP as their proficiency levels go up. Next, regarding (ii), the analysis suggested a transition from wa to no in novels, and a shift to yo in learner outputs. Finally regarding (iii), the analysis showed that SFP can be classified into four types. Each of them seems to represent different styles of Japanese: (a) an archaic written style, (b) a modern written style closer to colloquialism, (c) a formal and nons pontaneous spoken style, and (d) a spontaneous and interactive spoken style.
