誘発線4枚法は,治療者が誘発線の図形を描いて提示し,人の情動表出が根ざしている身体性の領域に直接働きかけて,表出を促す方法である。本法により,通常は触れ得ない意識の深層に働きかけ,新たな現実認識,現実への適応に発見的に到達させるとともに,それまで言語化されえなかつたものの言語化を促すこともできるであろう。このような考えのもとに,18名の患者に誘発線4枚法とロールシャッハテストを行ない, 4枚の描画の良否により,患者をおおよそ4つの患者群に振り分けることができた。同じ患者群に入る患者は,ほぼ同じ適応レベルにあり,誘発線4枚法を,患者の適応レベルを予測する一つの手がかりとすることができるという結果が得られた。また,描画に際して,最初の誘発線は,導入を容易にし,2番目の誘発線は,葛藤の表出を促すことでカタルシス効果をもたらすとともに,新たな現実の認識に至らせようとする。その後3番目の誘発線が葛藤表出による不安を鎮めると同時に2番目の誘発線と全く違った刺激を与え,それに誘発されるかどうかで,視点の転換能力があるかどうかを見る。最後に4番目の誘発線である円が,患者を現実の世界に引き戻しつつ締め括ることで,最初と最後に安全性の歯止めがかかっており,このことが,誘発線4枚法の,適応範囲の広い,安全な描画を可能にしていることが明らかになった。
'Elicitor technique' is one of the methods facilitating the patient's emotional expression. In it, the consecutive series of 4 elicitors ('Three Roundheads', 'Three Pointed Peeks', 'Elongated S', and' Circle' in consecutively sequence) are used. In practice, the doctor draws one of the elicitors on a sheet of paper and hands it over to his patient. Then the patient draws some figure utilizing it. In this way, the patient completes 4 drawings one after another. Using this technique, we can stimulate the patient's mind and can make him get a new understanding or new way of adapting himself to the real world. I tried 'elicitor technique' on many patients, and found that the patients can be devided into 4 classes by the mode of the drawings and that the level of the patient's adaptability depends on this class. Rorschach test supported this formulation. 'Elicitor technique' can thus be useful in estimating patient's adaptability. Now I want to refer to the characters of the 4 elicitors. The first induces usually standard drawings and doesn't stimulate the patient's emotion too deeply. To the second pattern, patients showed a variety of themes, for this often evoked their conflict, they became anxious and their deep emotions were expressed despite mecanism of defense. They drew many different things using the third also, but it is because they tend to relax looking at it. As it soothes down their stimulated conflict. So the third pattern can be used as a tester how for the patient can change his point of view. The last one usually leads the patient to draw without compulsion. As a whole, 'elicitor technique' is useful as a psychotherapeutic tool and free from danger due to the well assorted order from the first to the fourth elicitor.
