本研究は、貧困がもたらす子どもの食生活課題の実態を明らかにし、地域社会による取り組みに対する改善策を提案することを目的としたものである。第一に貧困が子どもの食生活に与える問題を分析した。世帯所得と食生活に関する条件との相関を調べた結果、特に「朝食の欠食」と「世帯所得」の間に強い関係性が得られた。また、衣服の購買に比べて、必要な食料の購入に関する所得格差が大きいことが分かった。一方で、子ども食堂などの「無償または低価格の食事提供施設の利用への関心」については、世帯所得との相関がみられなかった。これは、共働きや一人っ子世帯の増加に伴う孤食や食事の偏りという問題を、親の収入によらず、現代の子どもたちが抱えているということを示していると考えられた。この結果を踏まえ、尼崎市の所得と子どもの食生活課題の実態、解決への取り組みの現状を調査した。その結果、子どもの食生活を直接的に支援するような取り組みは小中学校の給食に限られていることが明らかになった。その後インタビュー調査によって、食生活課題に対する取り組みがあまり進んでいない背景には、財政等の限界から優先順位を付けざるをえないという実情があることが明らかになった。また、市の取り組みとして子ども食堂の設置が挙がった。これらの調査に基づき、小学生、中高校生の教育活動に子ども食堂への運営参加プロジェクトを導入することを提案した。親の所得や世帯状況に関係なく子ども食堂に関与する機会となり、現状子どもが抱えていると思われてる「子ども食堂の利用への抵抗感」を減らすことにも繋がる。生徒と地域住民、行政が関わることで地域住民主体の持続可能なまちづくりの１つとして好循環が生まれることが期待できると結論付けた。
This study attempts to clarify the actual situation of children’s dietary problems and then propose solutions to them. I studied the correlation between poverty and children’s dietary problems. It turned out that there was a strong relationship between missing breakfast and household income. Based on these results, I chose Amagasaki city, where residents’ average income is said to be relatively low, as a model case of the study. I conducted an interview with a city hall officer to ask about the real situation behind the problem. The establishment of a children's cafeteria was mentioned as a municipal solution. Yet, the support is not high enough and many children are left behind. Throughout the research, I proposed the introduction of a project for elementary, junior high, and high school students to participate in the management of children's cafeterias as part of their educational activities. This would provide an opportunity for children to become more involved in a children's cafeteria regardless of their parents' income or household situation, and would help reduce the hesitation or shame in using a children's cafeteria.
